Cox Uplink - Upgrade
Posted 22 Apr 2008 @ 1:04 AM
Cox Communications has notified CMWebHosting that they will be upgrading the Internet connection which feeds the CMWebHosting facility this evening at midnight. This enhanced connection will deliver larger dedicated capacity for increased burst-on-demand capability.
At 11:59pm this evening Cox will disconnect their uplink to CMWebHosting in order to perform the upgrade. At this time, customers may experience a very brief period of latency as the BGP tables are recalculated and as traffic is routed through our other upstream carriers. Cox estimates the upgrades will only take a short period of time.
When completed, they will reconnect the uplink to CMWebHosting and our edge routers will begin advertising Cox routes once again.

Posted 18 Apr 2008 @ 7:04 AM
We had to reboot Shell.cmwebhosting.net today , the server required some security upgrades and a Kernel Uograde too.
We however will be testing within the next week to make sure that the new shell server stays very much stable. Should we require to do any work we will inform every user on the affected server
